Arthur Graham scored both Leeds goals, but while Leeds sources credited them to him. Belgian sources saw both goals as being own goals by Central Defender Desanghere, noting that the first after nine minutes was a result of his chipping the ball over his keeper from a Graham cross. While the second, after thirty-five minute was described as a Graham shot on goal deflecting off the boot of Desanghere and into the net. Those goals gave Leeds a 2-0 Half-Time lead. The home side hit back in the second half and Boskamp reduced the arrears after fifty-seven minutes, when he scored from a free-kick from just outside the penalty box. Then ten minutes later Wissman levelled the scores with a volley. The referee was Francis Rion of Belgium and the crowd was estimated at 15,000. The Leeds substitutes were David Harvey, Peter Hampton and Gwyn Thomas.(Teams and match details courtesy of Alain Dethier)
